ARGUS Service Directory

Background
The ARGUS LDAP Service directory is based on work carried out by the Top End Division of General Practice (TEDGP). It was developed in order to help automate the upkeep of address books used by ARGUS.

Architecture
The Web site is written in C and served up using FASTCGI running under Apache. The Directory entries that are viewed on the web are stored in a Postgresql database. Authenticated users with appropriate permissions can modify these entries. Modified entries go through a moderation process where another authenticated user with appropriate permissions can accept or reject the changes made to a record. Upon acceptance, these changes are pushed into an LDAP database (implemented with OpenLDAP) which can be viewed using the ARGUS client software.

The Web site is run on a Linux Server for maximum stability, security and performance. It is currently hosted by inBOS.
